An arc cannon is an artifact and a missile weapon belonging to the Heavy Weapon skill tree. Arc cannons must be identified before they can be used; prior to examination, their display name will be "weird artifact".

Once identified, an arc cannon must be provided with power in order to function. This can be accomplished by installing an energy cell into the arc cannon. Additionally, arc cannons have integrated power systems, and can draw power directly from creatures that generate their own electricity, such as robots and creatures with Electrical Generation or an installed biodynamic power plant.[1] Arc cannons will always be found slotted with a chem cell.[2]

Once powered, an arc cannon can be activated to fire an electrical arc, a single projectile that deals ♥1d61-6 (Avg: 3.5) electric damage.[2] In addition to needing to penetrate a target's ♦AV in order to deal damage, the damage inflicted by an electrical arc will be influenced by the target's electric resistance.

Due to being a heavy weapon, arc cannons will decrease the wielder's movement speed by 25 when equipped, unless they have the Tank skill.[3]
