memory eater
Eight rings of pointed teeth rasp away tissue, and its suction-cup mouth latches onto the exposed spinal column and sucks out the raw nerves. Its glands are fat with stolen memories.
Whenever a memory eater hits the player (no matter what body they're in, but not other creatures) with its bite, it also makes a separate mental attack. If that attack penetrates at least once, the player forgets having seen all of the current zone's cells and also forgets one known journal note at random, drawn from the following categories, with all eligible notes weighted equally:[1]
- accomplishments
- observations
- pieces of sultan history those that don't make reference to a region or item
- recipes
