medassist module is a moderate cost cybernetic implant which upon installation both reduces the action cost of applying all tonics by 80% and grants the user a toggleable ability which allows the implant to instantly apply tonics when certain criterium are met.

The ability itself is called 'medassist module' and can be toggled off and on without expending action points. The ability functions by assessing the current situation the user is facing and applying whichever tonic it determines to have the highest positive utility. Up to 8 tonics can be slotted into medassist module at a given time, loading tonics is done individually and takes one turn

The 80% action cost reduction essentially means that the user will be able to apply 4 out of every 5 tonics without taking a turn, notably while applying


Aside from significantly decreasing the action cost of using tonics, the medassist module can be loaded with tonics which will hopefully be used appropriately. The internal AI will never overdose the player and will pick the highest utility tonic of its available stock, injecting it if it has positive utility. Utility equations are broadly detailed below.[1]

Tonic Base ingredient Methods of acquisition
 blaze injector  fire ant gaster paste  fire ant gasters which is the unrefined form of gaster paste , can be obtained by  butchering  fire ant corpses. At baseline, standard  fire ants have a 10% chance of dropping a corpse, with  fire ant queens having a doubled chance of 20%. Regular fire ants are commonly found in the  jungle and  ruins, where's queens have a much more limited range, generally only being truly common on the lower levels of the  Asphalt Mines.

This can be exploited for nearly infinite blaze injectors by taking the following series of actions:

  • Find and rebuke a  cloneling, which commonly spawn in  Bethesda Susa.
  • Raise insect reputation to neutral (-249) or higher, either with  Schrodinger pages,  custom visage,  holographic visage,  social coprocessor and the water ritual, or  symbiotic firefly.
  • Travel to the lower stratum of the asphalt mines and locate a now neutral fire ant queen.
  • Make the fire ant queen a follower whether by making use of the  Proselytize skill, or a love injector.
  • Transport the fire ant queen to an isolated underground location in order to prevent it from  flying, if necessry seal the queen in a box with items like  portable walls,  step sowers or  3D cobblers.
  • Wait for the queen to no longer be able to spawn more ants, kill all spawned ants besides the queen, and then harvest any dropped corpses for gasekets.
  • Use the cloneling to clone the queen as many times as desired, the newly spawned fire ant queens will be unable to spawn any additional ants and can consequently be easily killed even if hostile.
  • Remove the clonling from the area to prevent it from being destroyed, then kill as many queens as needed. Repeat this process until the desired quanity of blaze injectors is achieved.

When the player drops below 10% HP, the medassist module will randomly use any tonics loaded into it, prioritizing healing and  shade oil injectors.

Note that, despite counting as tonics for most other purposes, luminous hoarshrooms will not work in the medassist module, it only accepts actual injectors.
