Like most items, the distribution and spawning of cybernetics is in-part based on zone tier. However, unlike other items, cybernetics are not assigned individual tiers. Instead, depending on license cost, every implant is categorized as being either: low-tier, mid-tier or high-tier. Implants which cost 1-2 points are considered low tier, those with a license cost of 3 points are mid-tier, with any implants that have a license cost of 4 or above being considered high-tier.
While generally speaking, implants are found most commonly in zone tiers which correspond to their individual tier's namesake. This distribution is not completely clean, mid-tier implants for example while becoming more common in tiers 3-5, are technically most prevalent in tiers 6, 7 and 8. Though barring that exception, other implant tier-groups are generally most commonly found in zones that correspond to their tier.
Implant-Group Distribution by Tier
The following table lists the zone-tier based chance of a particular implant group being chosen when a cybernetic implant is set to spawn.

Low-Tier Implant Acquisition
A given implant is considered low tier if it has a license point cost of 1-2. Low-tier implants are most commonly found in zone tiers 1-3, though continue to spawn up to zone tier 6. The following sources provide the overall greatest odds of coming across low tier implants:
- The
Rusted Archway contains 2 
becoming nooks each with 1-2 implants taken from the cybernetics 2 table.
village tinkers from villages which happen to spawn in low-tier zones such as 
salt dunes or 
desert canyons can, upon restock, sometimes offer 2-4 implants taken from the zone's corresponding cybernetics table.
- Historical sites which spawn in low-tier zones like the
salt marsh or 
hills, have an elevated chance of containing becoming nooks which each hold 1-2 zone-tier appropriate implants. The locations of such historical sites can be learned with some reliability by water-ritualing legendary members of the Putus Templar and trading for secrets.
- Addtionally, the location of one low-tier historical site can be obtained by looking at the
shrine in 
Joppa's or the Ruins of Joppa's graveyard.
- Addtionally, the location of one low-tier historical site can be obtained by looking at the
Shem -1 located at 
Grit Gate, is a non-restocking cybernetics merchant who spawns with 6-8 implants taken from the cybernetics 1 table. Additionally, and unlike most merchants, shem -1 is considered a robot, making them vulnerable to the rebuke robot skill, potentially allowing for their wares to be obtained for free.
- The becoming nook present in Grit Gate contains 1-2 implants taken from the cybernetics 1 table.
- The guaranteed
gutsmonger which spawns at the 
Six Day Stilt initially has a restocking selection of 6-8 implants taken from the cybernetics 1 table.
Mid-Tier Implant Acquisition
A given implant is considered mid-tier if it has a license point cost of exactly 3. Mid-tier implants are most commonly found in zone tiers 6-8 though, unlike low and high implants are not truly restricted to zone tier, with mid-tier implants having a moderate chance of appearing in nearly every zone.
The following sources provide the greatest odds of coming across mid-tier implants.
Ezra's tinkerer 
Yla Haj who offers a non-restocking selection of 6-8 cybernetics taken from the tier 5 cybernetics drop table.- village tinkers from villages which happen to spawn in mid-tier zones such as
Rivers or 
banana groves can, upon restock, sometimes offer 2-4 implants taken from the zone's corresponding cybernetics table. - Historical sites which spawn in mid-tier zones like the
mountains or 
Rainbow Wood, have a chance of containing becoming nooks which each hold 1-2 zone-tier appropriate implants. The locations of such historical sites can be obtained with some reliability by water-ritualing legendary members of the Putus Templar and trading for secrets. - The cybernetics ward on strata 13 of
Bethesda Susa contains 4 becoming nooks which together provide 4-8 implants taken from the cybernetics 4 table. - Certain lower-ranking members of the Putus Templar such as
Knight Templars, 
Banner-Knight Templars and 
Gunner-Knight Templars have a 25% chance of spawning with the implanted prefix. Which, when killed and 
butchered drop cybernetics pulled from the cybernetics 4 table at 80% efficiency. 
Bep located in the 
Yd Freehold is a tinker-type merchant who sells implants taken from the cybernetics 7 table .
High-Tier Implant Acquisition
A given implant is considered high-tier if it has a license point cost of 4 and above. High-tier implants are commonly found in high-tier zones, with zone tier 8 having the highest chance.
The following sources the provide the greatest overall odds of finding high-tier implants:
Warden Une in the Yd Freehold is a non-restocking cybernetics merchant who provides 6-8 implants taken from the cybernetics 7 table.- Historical sites which spawn in mid-tier zones like the mountains or Rainbow Wood, have a chance of containing becoming nooks which each hold 1-2 zone-tier appropriate implants. The locations of such historical sites can be obtained with some reliability by water-ritualing legendary members of the Putus Templar and trading for secrets.
Knight Commanders of the Holy Temple have a 60% chance of spawning with the implanted prefix, which when killed and butchered, drops cybernetics pulled from the cybernetics 6 table table at 80% efficiency.- village tinkers from villages which happen to spawn in high-tier zones such as the
Moon Stair or 
deep jungle can, upon restock, sometimes offer 2-4 implants taken from the zone's corresponding cybernetics table. - Bep located in the Yd Freehold is a tinker-type merchant who semi-regularly sells 2-4 implants taken from the cybernetics 7 drop table.
- Historical sites which spawn in high-tier zones like the
Palladium Reef or 
Lake Hinnom, have a chance of containing becoming nooks which each hold 1-2 zone-tier appropriate implants. The locations of such historical sites can be obtained with some reliability by water-ritualing legendary members of the Putus Templar and trading for secrets.
Alternative Method
- Alternatively, if relying on the relatively limited and often random acquisition options is not desirable, it is possible to essentially guarantee eventual access to any implant of any tier by taking the following series of actions:
- Under normal circumstances, the guaranteed gutsmonger present at the Six Day Stilt only provides a restocking inventory of 6-8 implants taken from the cybernetics 1 drop table. However, gutsmongers, unlike most other merchants, adjust the tier of their wares to correspond with whatever zone they are currently standing within. This essentially means, that if a gutsmonger were to be made a follower, such as by using the
Proselytize skill or a 
love injector, said gutsmonger could then be transported to any tier and infinitely farmed for tier-appropriate implants. - The newly transported gutsmonger can then be cloned with a rebuked
cloneling in order to massively increase the number of cybernetics available each restock. Allowing the user with enough dedicated farms to eventually obtain any implant of any tier.

The following series of tables tracks the approximate chance of a given cybernetics merchant of stocking every implant at each particular zone-tier. Note that these tables are only applicable to dedicated cybernetics merchants, other sources of implants such as 
cybernetics racks use different distributions which are generally further elaborated on in each alternative source's corresponding page.
