You fire at a marked target. For each penetration on each shot that hits, your target bleeds 1 point of damage per round (save: 20 + max damage of the weapon). Then your target is unmarked.

Wounding Fire is a Bow and Rifle skill that provides an alternative fire mode. Like all alternative fire modes, it is used by pressing the "Fire missile weapon" key (by default, F), then pressing the corresponding "Alt Fire" key (by default, 2) on a target that is marked by Draw a Bead.

Upon being used, the user fires their missile weapon(s) as per a normal shot. For each penetrating hit, the target will begin Bleeding equal to the number of penetrations on that hit, subject to a save against 20+the max damage of the shot. Then, hit or miss, the target is unmarked.

Factions That Teach Wounding Fire

Wounding Fire is not taught by any of Qud's persistent factions. However, procedurally generated factions such as village factions can teach randomly chosen skills as part of their water ritual.
