A protective shirt of tiny, interlocked metal links.
chain mail is a type of low-tier body armor that is a slight upgrade from less effective leather and cloth body armors. Often worn by Goatfolk, who are commonly found in the Jungle.
It is a slight upgrade from 
ring mail, which has a higher DV penalty. However, chain mail is more than twice as heavy.
