(Ironically, the secondary effect has poor synergy with cudgels because of overlap. Can't stun something that's already stunned and it doesn't extend the duration of daze/stun or increase save difficulty.)

(level based) chance to daze your opponent on a successful melee attack for 2-3 rounds

Double-muscled is a physical mutation that increases the player's Strength. Additionally, every melee attack a creature with Double-muscled makes that hits and successfully penetrates has a mutation level based chance to daze their target for 2-3 rounds. This effect functions similarly to dazing caused by a critical hit from a cudgel, and will stun creatures that are already dazed.

Formulas

The following formulas are used to calculate Strength bonus and daze chance based on mutation level. [1]

Advantages & Disadvantages

This section is opinion-based. Your mileage may vary.

Advantages

  • Additional Strength causes the player to do more damage in melee via additional penetratons, as well as increases carrying capacity
  • Gaining Strength from a mutation rather than by increasing it through the Attribute Points granted at level-ups allows those points to go to other Attributes, or allows you to get extremely high strength
  • Synergizes well with weapons/mutations that have uncapped strength bonuses, such as Horns
  • Synergizes well with mutations that grant additional limbs that can be used in combat, such as Multiple Arms
  • The daze effect caused by this mutation can often prevent enemies from reacting to your attacks or fighting back and will stun creatures that are already dazed

Disadvantages

  • Moderate cost at character creation
  • Grants a relatively low Strength bonus at mutation level 1 and takes many levels for this bonus to significantly increase
