* Limits the player's vision even in well-lit areas, making it difficult to detect threats in advance
* Requires the player wear spectacles or mirrorshades at all times to counteract the effects, taking up the face slot
* Spectacles and mirrorshades have a 1% chance to break when the wearer is struck in melee, meaning players choosing to wear them will have to repair or replace them often- this can be avoided if they are [[sturdy]], but this occupies a mod slot and requires tinkering or significant luck

Myopic (D)

You are nearsighted.

You can only see up to a radius of 10.

Myopic (D) is a physical defect that limits the player's vision.

Players with Myopic can only see tiles up to 10 tiles away from themselves in a circular area; beyond that, terrain and objects are treated as though they were in complete darkness.[1]

The effects of Myopic can be mitigated by wearing either spectacles or mirrorshades.[2][3]

  • Can be be completely counteracted by wearing spectacles or mirrorshades

Disadvantages

  • Limits the player's vision even in well-lit areas, making it difficult to detect threats in advance
  • Requires the player wear spectacles or mirrorshades at all times to counteract the effects, taking up the face slot
  • Spectacles and mirrorshades have a 1% chance to break when the wearer is struck in melee, meaning players choosing to wear them will have to repair or replace them often- this can be avoided if they are sturdy, but this occupies a mod slot and requires tinkering or significant luck
