Photosynthetic Skin grants the "Bask" activated ability, which when used above ground during the day, will fully replenish the player's [[hunger]] and grant a [[metabolizing]] effect that boosts the player's natural healing rate and [[Quickness]] by mutation level-based amounts. Photosynthetic Skin is a physical mutation that allows the player to derive sustenance from the sun.

Photosynthetic Skin grants the "Bask" activated ability, which when used above ground during the day, will fully replenish the player's hunger and grant a metabolizing effect that boosts the player's natural healing rate and Quickness by mutation level-based amounts. Players with Photosynthetic Skin can still cook on campfires to satisfy their hunger as normal.

When a player with Photosynthetic Skin is low on food, rather than becoming Famished!, they will become Wilted!, reducing their natural healing rate by 10% and their Quickness by 5.

  • Creatures occasionally get stuck in your sappy blood, helping you escape after critical hits
  • Good synergy with Adrenal Control: basking while your Photosynthetic Skin level is boosted lets you keep the increased metabolic bonus until you get hungry
  • Grants a small bonus to DV when in foliage

Disadvantages

  • Characters with Photosynthetic Skin take high damage from defoliant
  • Basking is only possible during the day and above ground
  • Basking bonuses are considered cooking effects and are split into 2 ingredients, so it can be hard to use both quickness and healing bonuses alongside other cooking effects
